The DERIT Foundation
Stewardship over extraction. DERIT exists to make emergency preparedness accessible — and the Foundation is how surplus becomes community impact.
Mission
DERIT operates a hybrid for-profit and nonprofit model. The for-profit arm builds and sells coordination software and printed publications. When those products generate surplus, that surplus funds the Foundation.
The Foundation supports local emergency responders, volunteer search and rescue teams, and community preparedness programs. Equipment grants, training subsidies, and direct support for the people who show up first when things go wrong.
The pricing model reflects this: cost-plus for government and first responders, sustainable rates for private users, and free knowledge for everyone. If a small-town volunteer fire department needs the tools, the Foundation exists to bridge the gap.
Impact
Equipment Grants
Communication radios, TAK-compatible devices, and emergency coordination equipment for departments that cannot afford them.
Training Support
Subsidized training for volunteer teams — from CERT certification to TAK operator courses to ICS fundamentals.
Publication Distribution
Free printed field manuals and pocket references for departments and community organizations serving underserved areas.
The Foundation is in its founding phase. Impact reporting will begin once initial grants are distributed.
